Privacy Policy

Localhost Master  |  Last updated: April 18, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. Localhost Master is designed to work entirely on your local network — your files and shared content never leave your device through our servers. This policy explains what limited data we do collect and how we use it.

1. Who We Are

Localhost Master is an independent app developed and published on the Apple App Store. For any privacy-related questions, you can reach us at [email protected].

2. What Data We Collect

We collect minimal data. The table below summarises exactly what is collected, why, and by whom.

Data type Purpose Collected by
Crash reports & diagnostics Identify and fix bugs Apple (optional, controlled by your device settings)
Anonymous usage statistics Understand feature usage and improve the app Apple App Analytics (aggregated, not linked to you)
Advertising identifiers (free tier only) Serve relevant ads Third-party ad networks (see Section 6)
Purchase & subscription records Verify and restore premium subscriptions Apple App Store (we never see your payment details)

We do not collect, store, or transmit any files, photos, or text content you share through the app. All shared content is served directly from your device to other devices on your local network and never passes through our servers.

3. How the App Works — Local Network Only

Localhost Master runs a lightweight HTTP server on your device. Shared files and text are accessible only to devices on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot via a unique 4-digit code. No content is routed through the internet or any server we operate.

Because content is accessible to anyone on your local network who has the code, we recommend using the app only on trusted, private networks. You are responsible for the security of your Wi-Fi environment.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

5. Subscriptions & Purchases

Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment method, billing address, or full Apple ID. We only receive a confirmation of whether a valid subscription exists in order to unlock premium features.

Subscription management, cancellation, and refund requests are handled directly by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com for refund requests.

6. Advertising (Free Tier)

Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. These ads may be personalised or non-personalised depending on the consent choices you make in the in-app consent form.

GDPR / EEA users: If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we display a consent form powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) when you first launch the app. You can choose to consent to personalised advertising or opt out. If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be targeted based on your interests or advertising identifier.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT): On iOS 14 and later, Apple may also prompt you to allow or deny tracking across apps and websites. Your choice here controls whether Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) is shared with ad networks. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Premium subscribers do not see any advertisements and their advertising identifier is never shared with ad networks by this app.

We use Google AdMob for advertising. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

7. Analytics

We use Apple's built-in App Analytics, which provides aggregated, anonymised data about how the app is used (e.g., which features are opened, session length). This data is not linked to your identity and is controlled by your device's "Share iPhone Analytics" or "Share Mac Analytics" setting.

8. Children's Privacy

Localhost Master is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Data Retention

Because we do not collect personal data directly, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. Any analytics data held by Apple is subject to Apple's own retention policies. Advertising data held by ad networks is subject to their respective policies.

All content you share (files, text) exists only on your device's local storage and is removed when you delete an item in the app or uninstall the app.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your country or region, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since we do not maintain a personal data store, most of these rights apply to data held by Apple or third-party ad networks, which you can exercise directly with those parties.

If you have a specific privacy request, contact us at [email protected] and we will assist you.

11. Third-Party Links & Services

The app may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., the App Store, review pages). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
