1. Introduction

Welcome to Civics Exam ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use our iOS application.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the App:

• Purchase & subscription data: When you subscribe to Premium, Apple processes the transaction. We receive only an anonymized confirmation of your subscription status through Apple's StoreKit framework. We never receive your payment details, card numbers, or Apple ID.
• App preferences: Your selected display language and free-trial usage state are stored locally on your device only using iOS UserDefaults and the device Keychain. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us.
• Crash reports & analytics: If you have enabled crash reporting at the iOS level, Apple may share anonymized crash logs with us to help fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included. We do not run any third-party analytics SDK.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
• We do not collect your location data
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs
• We do not build user profiles or sell data to any third party
• We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or any other system resource
• We do not send push notifications
• The App declares zero iOS permissions — installation is silent and prompt-free

4. How We Use Your Information

The limited information we receive is used solely to:

• Verify and restore your Premium subscription status with Apple
• Diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes
• Improve the App's stability and performance

5. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following Apple-provided system frameworks, which are governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy:

• StoreKit — for in-app purchases and subscription management
• Keychain Services — for securely storing your free-trial state

The App also fetches a public configuration JSON at launch (containing the latest App Store URL, current and minimum supported version, and legal-page URLs). This request sends no personal data — it is a one-way HTTPS GET that returns the same response for every user.

We do not integrate any third-party advertising networks, social media SDKs, or data brokers.

6. Data Storage & Security

All user-specific data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not operate any backend server that stores personal user data. Your subscription entitlement is validated directly with Apple's servers — we never store or process payment information ourselves.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will promptly address it.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal profile to access, correct, or delete. All locally stored data can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the App.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under GDPR. Since we collect no personal data, these rights are satisfied by design.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
